Within the territory of the European Community (including Switzerland and Norway), most shipments travel by truck.

Being part of the Harmony network, we have a solid network of European partners that have more than 400+ vehicles available that load and unload dozens of removals every week in all European locations, as well as being able to reach even the most remote destinations with the direct mode or groupage services.

The close relationships with our European partners also allow us to deal with the classic problems of a move for each destination, such as parking permits for designated street parking during the move, assistance with unloading, or even a complicated loading.

The truck service also extends beyond the gates of Europe, reaching even Russia and Turkey.

The first is the LCL (Less than Container Load) option, i.e. shipping in boxes by sea (liftvans). This method is mainly used for small shipments and consists of stowing the goods inside specific, specially treated crates, which are then closed and consolidated inside a container together with other shipments to the same destination. The LCL solution has the advantage of being the most economical solution (within certain volume limits) and of guaranteeing double security for your goods, which are not only protected by the container but also by the walls of the lift van/s.

The second option is FCL (Full Container Load), that is, shipping in containers (20′, 40′, 40’HC and 45′). This method is adopted for large quantities/volumes, generally when you decide to move the entire residence. This option is also used for shipping motorcycles and cars that generally accompany the goods for removal. The advantage of FCL removals is that you have a dedicated container which can be transported to residences both at the origin and to the destination (where access allows), to be able to load and unload the goods directly on site, thus reducing to a minimum the intermediate steps of handling and re-stowing with the risks that they entail.

Relying on the right agent at destination (or at origin, if your destination is Italy) is of primary importance for the excellent success of a move. An extremely sensitive aspect of shipments by sea is knowing how to clear the shipment through customs in the shortest possible time to prevent the increase in extra costs due to customs controls or port stops.

For shipments smaller in volume and weight and with urgent arrival, the plane is used. This option allows a considerable saving of time compared to previous methods, allowing the customer to eceive his goods within a few days and to be able to resume his life quickly, even if, compared to the other methods, it is more expensive.

It is an option of particular interest for companies, which often transfer young employees elsewhere in the world to start a new life in another country, rather than top managers who want to have the essentials with them, waiting for a more substantial move via container to reach them.

Even in this case, the choice of the agent at the destination is very important to respect the dynamics and tight timeframes typical of air removals, so as to avoid customs problems.
